One of the most enjoyable things to do while visiting Northern Thailand is to take a “Long-Tail” boat ride.
On this 1 day tour you will visit a primitive hill tribe village, beautiful Wat Thaton Temple, Long tailed boat ride through mountain canyons in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai Thailand. Return to Chiang Mai or transfer to your hotel in Chiang Rai.
We will meet you at your hotel in Chiang Mai at 7 AM and visit a primitive Lahu hill tribe village on the Thai – Myanmar border in Chiang Mai Province Thailand. We will visit the village school and have a look in a traditional home and their daily life.. We will stop at a local market and a Hmong fruit market along the way.
After visiting the village we then have a look at the spectacular view from Wat Thaton Temple over looking the town of Thaton and the Mae Kok River then visit a Shan hill tribe cotton weaving village. We will have lunch in the village at a clean family run restaurant with excellent noodle and rice dishes.
We then travel through hill tribe villages to meet our private long tail boat for the 2 hour journey through mountain canyons to Chiang Rai. There is a rest room half way along the journey should you need to stop. We might see hil tribe working on vertical sloped mountainsides, elephants bathing in the river and locals fishing in the river.
